In reply to paragraph 3 of your Con-

-fidential Despatch of the 28th. of last July, I have the

17530 honour to refer you to my Despatch No. 153 of the 3rd. May,

1910, and to forward copy of the correspondence noted in the

annexed schedule which has taken place between the Naval

Authorities and myself, from which you will observe that the

use of wireless apparatus by merchant vessels and by foreign

men-of-war in Hongkong has hitherto been confined to the time

between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. or 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
